On Sunday 30 October, for the seventh time, Stichting Promotie Limburgse Kunstenaars, a foundation which promotes young talent in Limburg, will be awarding the Parkstad Limburg Prijs. This is an award for visual artists who have gained professional qualifications, are aged 35 and under and have a artistic relationship with the Dutch and Belgian provinces of Limburg.  

From the 100 or so entries submitted, the following nominees were selected in two rounds of evaluation: Floor Martens, Liza Wolters, Mickey Yang, Mike Moonen, Morena Bamberger, Quinn Zeljak, Vera Gulikers and William Ludwig Lutgens.

Exhibition at Schunck

The artistic prize is worth € 10.000,-. Prizewinners can use this amount to help further their talent. As from the date of the prizewinning ceremony, work by the nominated artists will be put on show as part of a joint exhibition at SCHUNCK from 30 October 2022 to Sunday 15 January 2023. For the seventh edition, the jury will consist of the following: Fabian de Kloe (Artistic Director, SCHUNCK), Lene Ter Haar (Kulturreferentin, Dutch Consulate General Düsseldorf), Les Deux Garcons, Michel Vanderheijden van Tinteren and Roel Moonen (artist duo and former contenders), Annemie Van Laethem (Curator of Forum Triangulare, Kasteel Oud-Rekem) and Mathieu Bruls (architect and art-lover).

About the Parkstad Limburg Prijs

The Parkstad Limburg Prijs is an artistic prize which was conceived in 1996 to build a bridge between young artists, the business community, public authorities and the general public. Stichting Promotie Limburgse Kunstenaars – the initiator – aims to support talented young Limburg artists in their professional development.
