ProuTboys - photography by Ilvy Maijen

until 30 September

Anyone visiting the first floor of the SCHUNCK Glaspaleis this month will meet the glimpses of some 20 gay and transgender young people in the exhibition ProuTboys. Ilvy Maijen photographs these young people with the aim of encouraging and inspiring them to be themselves. She encourages them to show themselves and tell the story of their coming out. In her portraits, Maijen shows both the vulnerability and inner strength of these young people. The exhibition can be seen until 30 September.

Around this exhibition, SCHUNCK offers a side programme for all ages, in cooperation with COC Limburg. The full programme can be viewed at schunck.nl/Limburg-pride.

SCHUNCK Schrijversbezoek 2022 Pim Lammers Portret

Pim Lammers

Central figure in this side programme is Pim Lammers (b. 1993), an author for children and adults. In 2017, he made his debut with Het lammetje dat een varken is, the first Dutch transgender picture book. He received a Zilveren Griffel for this, becoming the youngest winner in the history of the award. In his children's books and poetry, gender and sexual diversity play a very important role. For instance, he writes poems about non-binary aunts and fairy tales about lesbian knights.
