dsm-firmenich donates DSM art collection to municipality of Heerlen
On behalf of the municipality of Heerlen, SCHUNCK Museum will manage, maintain and exhibit the DSM art collection from 2025. We are extremely pleased that this collection will be preserved for Heerlen.
The collection comprises over 500 unique works by regional, national and international artists. There is a close relationship between the DSM Collection and the SCHUNCK Collection (Heerlen collection). This concerns both the artists represented, the presentation history and the regional roots.
The collections complement each other and are mutually reinforcing. In the management of the DSM Collection by SCHUNCK, making works of art accessible to the community is a central issue. Starting in 2025, the collection of artworks will be presented at various locations in Heerlen, with the transition story of the collection as the starting point.
