Although you can no longer enjoy a drink at the view over Heerlen, you can still join one of the extra scheduled Rooftop Tours. During such a tour, you will get a guided tour of the roof and learn all about the background of this project. You can join on Sunday 9, 16 or 23 October. We start at 1 pm at the Glaspaleis, no sign-up required.
About Rooftop
Under the name the Heerlen Rooftop Project, the parking deck of Q-Park Putgraaf was transformed into an oasis of nature in spring. The project is part of IBA Parkstad's expo year. Architectural collective Selvatico made the design, which was realised with volunteers, neighbourhood associations and de Moestuinman. Together, we call attention to greening the roof landscape in Heerlen. Because more greenery makes for a nicer living environment. And that is necessary, because Heerlen is among the three warmest cities in the Netherlands. The roof garden had been open every weekend from 12:00 to 20:00 since the end of June.
Over the past summer months, various activities were organised on the roof: from live jazz music to Kloemele for the kids, and from yoga to the popular rooftop tours. Watch the recap in the video above and enjoy one more time with us.
