His firm, with offices in Rotterdam, Brussels and North America, has a unique multidisciplinary approach to spatial planning. In it, architecture, public space, and infrastructure come together.

Geuze is a member of the Academy of Arts of the KNAW, an extraordinary member of the Dutch Society for Garden and Landscape Architecture, a professor of landscape architecture at Delft University of Technology, and a recipient of the Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award of the IFLA, the most distinguished prize for landscape architects internationally.

Back in the heyday of architect Peutz, urban planner Klijnen wrote (1936) about the importance of green areas to the character of Heerlen. In more recent history, due to many redevelopments in our region, the beautiful stream valleys were cut off from the Mergelland. Today, how can we ensure that the city remains part of one of the most special landscapes in the Netherlands.

Adriaan Geuze talks about the sustainable development of city and country.
