During the winter of 2020/21, the store window of SCHUNCK Glaspaleis was transformed into a bombastic, colourful memory lane by artist Simone Schuffelen. Her work was a reflection on the 30-year existence of Cultura Nova, the internationally renowned theatre festival.

It's a peepshow, a diorama and a theatre performance rolled into one. The warm, colourful and extravagant store window gave visitors the opportunity to take delight in a show where there were no goods on sale.
On several occasions, Simone entered the SCHUNCK store window to give yet more surprise performances. But in the absence of the artist too, the shop window - like a colourful peep show - was full of unexpected eye-openers during the dark winter days.
Schuffelen is a visual artist, but describes herself as an artiste, comedian, multi-talent and full-time human and lover. Her work cannot easily be categorised. On the one hand, she is drag queen Lady Louise, and the other a singer with LosDQ. One thing is certain: the red line in her work is the personality of Simone herself. With nonsensical advertisements in the public space, swinging talk shows, once-in-a-lifetime dinners or festive, let’s say extravagant, performances, Simone enters into a conversation with her audience.
