Saturday 27 August, 'PAND - in collaboration with SCHUNCK - initiates a conversation between podcast maker and writer Michiel Lieuwma of Boze Geesten Podcast and Hicham Khalidi, director of the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht.

The two will discuss inclusion and diversity in the art world on the basis of Keith Haring's exhibition in SCHUNCK. It will be a conversation in which nuances are sought in contemporary debates about inclusion and diversity.

About Michiel Lieuwma

Michiel Lieuwma (1980) is a writer and dramatist. He works or has worked for VPRO, De Correspondent, De Snijtafel, Het Zuidelijk Toneel and Orde van de Dag and produces the Boze Geesten Podcast.

About Hicham Khalidi

Hicham Khalidi is director of the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. As a multidisciplinary post-academy for art, design and reflection, the Jan van Eyck Academy offers work periods every year to artists, designers - ranging from graphic and fashion to food and social design -, writers, curators and architects from all over the world. The academy is committed to researching the role and social significance of the arts in relation to the climate crisis and its impact on many areas. This institutional focus creates a common ground that encompasses a diversity of practices and allows a multitude of voices to be heard.

Prior to his directorship at the Jan van Eyck Academy, Khalidi was associate curator at Lafayette Anticipations in Paris, curated the group exhibition ACT II at the Sharjah Biennial in Beirut 2017, acted as curatorial attaché for the Sydney Biennial in 2016 and was chief curator of the Marrakesh Biennial in 2014.
