In 2020 artist Jan Rothuizen made a drawing of the city of Heerlen. A so-called 'soft atlas' in which he made a drawing of Heerlen based on stories of residents and his own discoveries made during his many cycle trips through the city. For families, the booklet 'Heerlen een (te) gekke stad' (or 'Heerlen a (completely) crazy city') was made, with which young and old can look at the city with different eyes, based on Jan Rothuizen's drawing.
During the Stadmaakweek (or Citymakingweek) - an initiative of Cultura Nova, IBA, Stadsregio Parkstad, municipality of Heerlen, Weller and Wonen Limburg - the booklet 'Heerlen een (te) gekke stad' can be picked up in the hall of SCHUNCK Glaspaleis on 31 August between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Enjoy the walk and be surprised by the many activities of the Stadmaakweek in Heerlen.
