The library is much more than a collection of books. Did you know you can work or study here in peace and quiet? Come read the newspaper for free and meet your neighbors. Or walk in for help with digital questions. Even without a subscription you are welcome in the library: the living room of the city.
computers, internet and printing
In all of our locations you will find free WIFI, public computers with internet access, MS Office and printing features. A library subscription entitles you to 1 hour of free use of the computers per day. If you don't have a library card, you can buy an Internet pass (€3). On this card you put a credit for the computer use (€ 0.75 per 15 minutes).
Printing and copying in color costs: € 0.50, in black and white: € 0.10
In the branches Glaspaleis, Heerlerheide and Hoensbroek you can also use WiFi printing. A staff member in the library will be happy to help you get started.
Reading room
In our reading rooms you will find a wide selection of newspapers and magazines, both regional and national. So come to one of our branches and enjoy a newspaper or magazine at your leisure. You are also welcome without a library subscription!
Study- and workspace
Want to study for an exam or work in an inspiring enviroment? Then come to the Library. In all our branches we offer study and work places where you can work for hours. Of course, we also have free wifi in all our locations. And coffee at hand!
DIGTAL GOVERNMENT INFORMATION POINT (IDO)
Nowadays you can arrange everything via the Internet. Contact with the government is also increasingly digital. Many people find this difficult. Could you use some help or do you know someone who needs help? Drop by the Library. We offer help and provide you with all information you need to be able to arrange these digital matters yourself. We can also make an appointment for you with an organization that can help you further. You don't have to be a member.
curl up with a book
Even if you are not a member of the library, you are welcome to stop by at any time. Browse through our collection at your leisure and be surprised by what we have to offer. Does a title grab your attention? Take the book out of the bookcase and sit down in one of our armchairs in a quiet corner for hours of undisturbed reading pleasure!

SCHUNCK Library Heerlen is a cashless organization. This means that you can only pay by card.
